Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Launches the Access Monitoring System Dashboard

Access to health care for Medicare beneficiaries is a complex issue affected by multiple factors such as physician supply, payment policies, delivery systems, market factors, and beneficiary characteristics.  To assist the government, public, and research community with monitoring Medicare beneficiaries access to health care analysis, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released the Access Monitoring System Dashboard (AMS).  AMS is a public dashboard that displays data insights on beneficiary access-to-care measures for fee-for-service (FFS) Medicare beneficiaries across geographic regions of the United States. Data sources include the Chronic Conditions Warehouse (CCW) Medicare Beneficiary Summary Files, and 100% Medicare Part B FFS claims data from 2008-2016, as well as 1-800-MEDICARE call center data.
